Paul Whelan Trophy 2023This will take place on Monday 4th September 2023, meeting at 12.30pm on The Heritage course at The London Golf Club, near Brands Hatch. Full address is Stansted Lane, Ash, TN15 7EH. All HOGS members & guests are welcome to attend.
Peter Beeke - 09/06/2021It is with great sadness that I have learned today that Peter has passed away after a long battle with skin cancer. “The Judge who was not really a Judge” only joined HOGS around 2013 but over recent times had become our Senior Statesman. He was always an excellent tourist & it was a pleasure to hear his stories & words of wisdom from his days on the bench. He was actually our last touring captain to Turkey in 2019.
I particularly remember on his first tour negotiating with Turkish Airlines in a forthright “do you know who I am” manner on behalf of the touring party, to ensure that they held our connecting flight in Istanbul, so that we were able to get home. As well as golf, he had a keen interest in Horse Racing, Rugby & he was an accomplished Rugby referee. He will be fondly remembered & sadly missed by all HOGS members.
RIP Beeky & I hope that your friends at Burghley Park G.C. were able to give you a good send off. Play well my friend on the "Fairway to Heaven".
